The Parisian product designer Patrick Norguet has realised the ‘Republica’ chair for the manufacturer of classic French bistro furniture Drucker. Speaking of this collaboration and his recent design Norguet says: ‘Republica is above all the desire to seek out our history, several years ago I discovered the firm Drucker and its history. I wanted to take the time to think about a chair which would be in line without much “fanfare.” ‘

“The idea was to design a chair which would fit into a range of environments inside or outside, for residential purposes or for use on the terraces like an old Parisian café. The objective was to propose a simple and delicate chair. The stacking system echoes the action of café waiters who stack the chairs in the evening when the bistros close. The metal tubular structure makes the object functional solid and durable.”
