Fibonacci Cabinet by Utopia Architecture

Utopia Architecture studio from Guangzhou, China has created a cabinet drawing that draws design cues from the Fibonacci sequence.In mathematics the Fibonacci sequence, by definition, is a series of numbers: {0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, … }, in which the next number is found by adding up the two numbers before it.

The designers at Utopia have taken this integer sequence and translated into industrial design, drawing design elements from traditional Chinese medical cabinets. This storage piece is made almost entirely of bamboo, which puts its durability out of question.

The cabinet is arranged in multiple square-sized drawers, ultimately creating one unified piece. It is composed of seven units with a one stand and six modular cabinets. The cabinet may be taken apart to be used separately for storage, which makes this product practical as much as it is beautiful.
