The Stockholm-based design studio Note have recently collaborated with the renowned Swedish furniture manufacturer Mitab on this series of organically-shaped, metal-and-cork stools called ‘Boet’. Inspired by ‘the bird’s nest among the trees’ (‘boet’ meaning ‘nest’ in Swedish), the design is available in two heights and various colourways, and it will be presented at the upcoming London Design Festival 2012 (19 – 23 September) at Design Junction.

‘This is Boet (meaning Nest in Swedish), a stool inspired by the birds’ home among the trees. Elevated, protected, carried by a strong tree, you find the soft, rounded shape of the nest. The contrast between materials with different functions creates dynamics. Metal in differ- ent colors signal strength and tone. In the metal bowl a soft shape of cork to sit on, warm and welcoming. The nest always feels like home.’
